Rome to Naples

Our Italy-Greece adventure: Originally we were planning on going to stay in Naples just so we could go to Pompeii for the day and leave the next day for the coast. Well, turns out ferries don't run as often, and we were a tidge bit worried- not to mention Naples is scary and none of us wanted to stay there. SO we nixed Pompeii :( and decided to go to the coast to figure out the ferry situation. To do this, we took a train from Naples to Caestra where the man then told us the train from Caestra required reservations which we couldn't get because it was booked. So unless we wanted to wait until 2:30 am he told us we could take a bus from Naples and from there take a train. So back to Naples we went. Then the man there told us there was no train from Naples. So we said WE KNOW WHERE'S THE BUS and he was completely not helpful, but finally we found the bus and took a 2 hour bus ride to Foggia with our pizza box ( because while Katie and I were inquiring about the bus the others were getting lunch for us), so we had our pizza box on this crowded bus where none of us were even sitting together. Then once we all took a piece we stuck it up in the luggage storage area. aaaaaaah fun times. The excitement kind of ends there because once in Foggia we took a train to Brindisi and things were great from there out. Brindisi is the cutest little city and I'm sure its pretty touristy in the summertime, but we were probably the only outsiders there. We stayed at a hotel for 13 euros each and we didn't have our own bathroom, but like I said no one else was there, so they told us to use not only the community bathroom, but the bathroom that was in another room. Why we didn't stay in that room, I don't know. Anyway, it all worked out and the next night we hopped on the ferry for our 15 hour ride to Patras.

Finally on the train to Athens after the ferry!! (This is what I got for making a funny face on Katie's camera)

You can probably tell from all of this that we must have spent about.. 3 days just traveling. Oh well, memories....
