Let's see... I'm going to watch Andy Roddick play some tennis later tonight because he's in town, and Thursday I head out to Italy/Greece for Toussaint (fall break)!

*In case you're wondering- I have fall break, Christmas break, an unofficially named break between semesters, winter break (in February), and last but not least: spring break. Not to mention 3 day weekends every weekend. haha suckas

Apparently waxing is the French way, so...
last night we had a waxing party... I bet Rémy's glad he's on vacation :D

PARTY!!
Our Hanni's birthday/Halloween party was on Saturday night and we partied it up french style- aka we stayed up until 5 in the morning and got up at 8:30 to eat breakfast/clean/send people off. I was pretty much dead the next day, but it was so fun we're definitely going to repeat it many times this year... minus the halloween decorations.

Mes colocs et moi! :
Rémy, Hanni, Anaïs, Lola, et moi. (Hanni is the other American; Lola is the frenchie who shares Anaïs's room for one week every month)

Lola and Justine webbing the kitchen...

Alan, Katie, and Ale going for my jugular! ahhh!
We did the best we could to share our crazy American culture, and none of the frenchies that night played with the wax fangs mes parents sent, but the next morning they were all gone. The little witch whose eyes light up was a hit too =)

Last Sunday Lyon International took us to Beaujolais for a hike and some wine tasting. It was a fun day- tasted some grapes, some wine, had a nice walk, hung out with new people, etc. AND it's right outside of Lyon, so thats cool, even though I'm not sure how one would get there without a car or a tour bus. Anyway, here are pictures from that:

The beginning of our trek.

France has a lot of white cows, and finally I caught them on camera!

The chateau of the area with pretty fall trees. (sorry no time for adding accents right now, I'll fix it later- cause I know you care!)

It was beautiful and perfect weather for hiking, but it could have been brighter for prettier pictures...

I'm not positive what this place is, but it definitely has le Petit Prince on it and I thought it was cool even though I couldn't really get a good angle of it.

We walked through/by many many vinyards right outside of Lyon. The grapes are delicious right off the vine, by the way.

I always have to take pictures of sundials because they remind me of Dad!

On the way up to the castle which I never actually made it to because of a lack of time...oh well, I got pictures of it from afar.

I don't think this qualifies as a lemon tree, it was more of a lemon shrub.

Some people in the middle of a Beaujolais vinyard?

Oh, it's Taza and I!

Towards the end of our 11 k hike.

The day before Beaujolais I went to Parc de la Tête d'Or. It's a giant park in Lyon which is quite a ways away (especially when the trams are on strike) and it doubles as a zoo. So... you're walking around and come across elephants all of a sudden, and yeah they're in their little fenced off island area, but its pretty strange. They also have giraffes, monkeys, wild cats, bears, deer, and one goat.

This is from inside one of the entry gates. I have yet to take a paddle boat out on the lake, but I will eventually! This was my first time to the park, actually.

I was just trying to take a picture of the papillon on the flower and didn't notice the bee until I looked at my pictures on my computer.

I just thought that looked cool.

Back on October 7th I took a day trip to Geneva, Switzerland with Rachelle, Jean, and Gina. The most exciting part of the trip: they have Starbucks! OK, just kidding, but we did get a drink there because there are definitely no Starbucks in France.

Not the best picture, I know, but it was pretty fall time in Geneva so I wanted to get some trees. And there's the flag to prove I really was in Switzerland!

Jean, Gina, and I racing on our horsies! You'd be amazed how many playgrounds are around Geneva. Or maybe you'd just be amazed that we played on all of them...

Yes, I helped Jean get up there. For a better view? For any reason at all? umm, no.

Their pretty Russian church. Sorry I don't know the details. We did walk up to the front door and concluded that a baptism was going on, so we didn't see inside.

Geneva's famous jet d'eau...

We were there!! (Rachelle et moi)

A big clock in the grass that really isn't as impressive as all the hype about it.

Cheese fondue for dinner of course! We had "Provencal" so I really don't know what was in that, but it was definitely delicious. The other kind we got was Gruyere and tasted exactly like the kind I make at home, so I made cheese fondue that next week for my roommates and it was a success! (I'm proud because I had to make it from memory since I don't have my recipes yet)

From rue des Hérideaux, you walk through a gate and to the left is my landlady's house, straight ahead is an office, and to the right is our terrace, but then a little farther straight and to the right is our door. If that makes sense. Here's our door (our terrace isn't pretty enough to take pictures of)

Now here's a 360 of ma chambre:

An updated picture since I got the lamp which, by the way, provides 99% of the lighting in my room. I do have another lamp and a main light, but they really add up to probably the power of a large candle.

No more pink on the bed, but Thanksgiving decorations on the wall!

My doors that go out to our little terrace. The black chair was kicked out of my room to allow more space for the futon, where the pillows have found their home.

My windows with Halloween stickers :)

Katie and Taza helped me FINALLY get a futon!! I really should have taken pictures of the whole fiasco, but in the end, we did it!
Please note the Thanksgiving (maybe a little bit politically incorrect?) stickers on the window!

So my room was completely furnished except for the futon, mirror, big lamp and halloween stickers.
